Hardware and Software Requirements

Software Support Policy | Desktop Client | Database Server | Polling Server 

This article describes the software requirements for Visual Casino. The network diagram presented in Figure 1 represents the most common configuration used for Visual Casino and demonstrates all of the required networking and hardware related requirements.

There are three main elements to a Visual Casino installation- the desktop clients, the database server, and the polling server. Each of these elements has different minimum and recommended hardware and software requirements as outlined below. 

Software Support Policy

Biometrica Systems Inc. only supports installation of Visual Casino on Operating Systems and SQL Applications that are currently under support by their Publisher. Following the final security update by a Publisher, we will support the Operating System and SQL Application for 30 more days for support. After those time frames, users will need to upgrade the Operating System and SQL Application in order to receive support from the help desk.

Desktop Client (Review Network)

Minimum

NOTE: ALL versions of Windows 10 not under LTSC will not be supported by Biometrica Systems after October 14, 2024. Please upgrade to continue to receive support. We will no longer guarantee that application updates will function on Windows 10 beyond that date. For customers on confirmed LTSC support contracts from Microsoft we will still provide issue support but we will not be generally testing on Windows 10 so you may experience compatibility issues.

Unsupported Windows Versions

The following Windows Desktop Versions are no longer supported by Biometrica Systems, Inc. per our policy of not supporting Operating Systems no longer receiving security updates from Microsoft:

  • Windows 10 - Versions 22H1 and below. 

NOTE: Windows 10 22H2 will receive its final security updates on October 14, 2025. Unless you have secured an LTSC support contract from Microsoft, your systems will be unprotected.

Recommended

Database Server (Local Datacenter)

Below are the listed minimum requirements for the database server. The Visual Casino database may be co-located on an existing database server hosts other databases. Additionally, the Visual Casino database may be placed on a virtual server, if desired.

Minimum

  • OS: Windows Server 2016
  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2017
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Storage: 30GB available disk space
  • Networking: Ability to communicate over ethernet with the desktop clients and polling server

NOTE: Windows Server 2016 end of life is January 21, 2027. We recommend updating before that date to remain in support.

NOTE: SQL SERVER 2017 end of life is October 12, 2027. We strongly recommend updating before this date to remain in support.

Recommended

  • OS: Windows Server 2025
  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Storage: 100GB available disk space
  • Networking: Ability to communicate over ethernet with the desktop clients and polling server

  • OS: Docker (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS)
  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD A10
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Storage: 100GB available disk space
  • Networking: Ability to communicate over ethernet with the desktop clients and polling server

Polling Server (Local Datacenter)

Below are the listed minimum requirements for the polling server. If desired, the polling server and the database server may be the same server. The database server will need an additional 5GB of storage space (for a total of 35GB of available storage space) if the polling server and database server are the same machine.
