Facial Recognition Migration

We offer this standalone utility as both an executable installer and portable zip for ease of use and deployment.

The executable installer requires someone with the ability to add and remove programs from the computer to be able to deploy. The Zip can be extracted and run without an administrator.

Using the Executable Installer

After downloading, run the installer, following the prompts until it completes.

Using the Extractable Zip

After downloading:

  1. Right click on the zip file and choose Extract All. 
  2. Browse for your target extraction location (e.g. your Desktop). 
  3. Choose the Show extracted files when complete  

Running the Utility

If you installed the utility using the installer, FRMigrationUtility should be in your recently added list of programs in your start menu.

If you extracted the utility from the zip folder, you want to find the FRMigrationUtility.exe file in the folder and run it.

Migration Process

You will need to connect to your Visual Casino database to perform the migration. If you usually use a dbinit file when accessing Visual Casino, and the computer you are using has Visual Casino installed on it, the utility will detect your dbinit file. You can select it to connect to the database. Otherwise, you will need to enter the connection information for your database server into the connection screen. 

Note: Username and Password here are NOT your usual login credentials for Visual Casino, these are specific to the database.

Once connected, you will be presented with the migration utility. It will automatically detect the number of photos and people in your Visual Casino database.

Click Start Migration to begin the migration. After a minute or so, an estimated remaining time to completion will appear in the component marked Estimated.

Once the migration is complete, the updated facial recognition cache will be available for use in Visual Casino 8.1.
